The winding machinery producer for high performance fibers, Georg Sahm GmbH & Co. KG, Eschwege, Germany, is introducing a new generation of winders combining high technology with efficiency. At the JEC ASIA Composite Show in Singapore, the company announced that from the beginning of 2010 on, the newly developed jumbo winder SAHM 840XE for 500 kg packages on PAN precursor lines will make it possible to extend the running time of carbonization lines. This will mean cutting down waste production while significantly increasing the efficiency by saving the time that would normally be needed for starting and heating up of the lines.
